Amazon Prime Day is happening right now and it’s one of the best times of the year to get a discounted Audible subscription. Amazon currently has a promotion available for new subscribers that will get you the first three months for only $0.99/month as well as a $20 Audible credit. This is the best deal of the year so far and a great reason to step into the glorious world of narrated books.
If you’re new to audiobooks, I highly recommend taking advantage of this deal to experience Audible’s full-cast Harry Potter editions. If you use your free books and $20 credit wisely, you can listen to the first four books for less than $11.

The Harry Potter full-cast editions are some of the best audiobooks currently available, and as of May 2026 all of the books have gotten that glorious full-cast treatment. If you’re interested in checking out what a full-cast version of the Harry Potter books actually sounds like, Amazon’s Prime Day deal is definitely worth a look. I’ve listened to the first few audiobooks in the series and thought they were incredible. The voice cast is pretty stacked, but it’s all of the little background noises and sound effects that really make it feel immersive. If you are looking to experience something between a book and a movie, I highly recommend giving it a try.

As for how to maximize the value of the deal right now, that does require a bit of added strategy. The Prime Day Audible deal gets you your first three months of your subscription for $0.99 per month, which includes one free book per month. With the additional $20 Audible credit included as a sign-up bonus, you’ll also be able to purchase a fourth book at a significant discount. Both The Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets audiobooks are priced at $27.55 through Amazon currently, so if you use your $20 credit on either of those and your free monthly book on the other three, that will only run you $10.55.
Once your three months are up, a Standard subscription will automically start charging you $8.99 per month after that. If you don’t want to finish the series you can cancel or get the remaining books for a discounted rate.
What Is the Standard Plan?
Audible only recently introduced the Standard Plan earlier this year and it works a little bit different than the other subsription plans for the service. With a Standard subscription, you do get one book per month, but this doesn’t come in the form of Audible credits. Premium memberships give you one audiobook credit per month, which you can use to purchase any audiobook in the Audible library. With Audible credits, any audiobook you purchase is now owned by you and will remain on your account even if you cancel your subscription.
With the Standard Plan, however, you don’t get a credit, you just get to pick a free audiobook every month. It’s essentially the same thing until you choose to cancel. Any audiobooks you use your monthly pick on will only remain on your account while you have a subscription. Once you cancel, you’ll lose those books forever.
