The Beast is considered the best glasses for gaming and movie watching for a couple of major reasons. These glasses use Sony’s highly-touted Micro OLED panels with 1920×1200 resolution per eye, which simulates a 4K resolution on a big virtual screen. The Beast can project a screen size up to 175″. Integrated Vision 3DoF allows you to resize your screen on the fly with your fingers. The flat prism lenses boast a wide and very immersive 58 degree FOV, native 120Hz refresh rate that offers buttery smooth motion, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
Other features include 9-level dimming and transparency mode, integrated Harman AudioEFX open-ear speakers, realtime 2D to 3D conversion, and 70mm IPD adjustment. The frame is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and weighs 88 grams.
IGN’s Jackie Thomas reviewed these glasses and rated them positively with a few qualifications, commenting that “the VITURE Beast XR glasses are a great way to bring a giant gaming monitor with you wherever you go, even if fiddly controls and blurry text stop them from being a full-time display contender.”
The VITURE Luma Are the Productivity Glasses of Choice
The Luma is available in three different variants: Standard, Pro, and Ultra. If you’re looking for glasses that offer maximum productivity, you’ll want to splurge on the Luma Ultra. This is the only model with full 6DoF and hand tracking. Additionally, it’s the brightest at 1,500nits. If you want some tracking but don’t need the bells and whistles, the Luma Pro will save you some money and still offer 3DoF tracking. Finally, if you don’t need any sort of tracking (for example you’re just using a mouse and keyboard, gamepad, or remote), then the Luma XR offers a great value by omitting the tracking features.
Aside from the increased brightness on the Ultra, all three glasses are equipped with the same Sony Micro-OLED panels with 1200p resolution per eye and can project up to a 152″ virtual screen. The Luma glasses are actually sharper than the Beast for two reasons. First, the Lumas use Birdbath lenses that offers better edge-to-edge clarity with a more forgiving eyebox (“sweet spot”). Second, because the Luma has a smaller FOV but maintains the same pixel count, pixel density is higher, so text is sharper. A smaller FOV is less immersive, but a sharper image is more important for productivity work.
