There have been a lot of different Pokémon games released on the Nintendo Switch over the years but my favorite so far has been Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It felt like the most refined gameplay experience and runs especially well if you get the Switch 2 edition. IGN gave the game a solid 8 out of 10 review when it was first released last year and I highly recommend playing it if you’re a fan of the series.
As it’s one of the most recent Pokémon game and one of the only titles to get a dedicated Switch 2 edition, there haven’t really been any good discounts on physical copies of the game until now. Amazon has just a Lightning deal for Prime members that drops the price down to $45.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Lowest price of all time.
How the deal works: This discount is a Lightning deal, which means there’s a limited number for stock available at this discount. Once the deal is 100% claimed, the price will go back up.
What I really like about Pokémon Legends: Z-A is how well it’s built upon some of the best elements of previous games. Little bits and pieces of Legends: Arceus and Scarlet and Violet that brought new life to the series are flawlessly incorporated into this game to make a really fun experience. The entire story takes place in a single location (Luminose City), which seems so small until the game starts to unfold and you meet new people and unlock new areas. It’s a whole new side of world of Pokémon like you’ve never experienced before. With the next generation, Winds and Waves, not releasing until 2027, this is the game to buy now.
What we said in our review
“Pokemon Legends: Z-A finally feels like Game Freak hitting its stride in Pokemon’s 3D era. Lumiose City may not be visually exciting, but exciting Pokemon encounters, well-written characters, and amusing side quests still make it fun to explore while also serving as the ideal vehicle for a more intimate and emotionally mature Pokemon story. Z-A’s total battle system overhaul from turn-based to action also works surprisingly well, managing to be intuitive for series veterans and engaging to play casually while introducing all sorts of intriguing possibilities for deeper, competitive play. And while Z-A could use a little performance help on the Switch 1, it’s a marked improvement from its predecessors and significantly better if you’re playing on Switch 2. After several years running of putting the controller down with a deep sigh at the end of a Pokemon review, it sure is refreshing to once again be excited to keep playing for hours more.” – Rebekah Valentine
More Nintendo Switch Deals Today
In addition to this game, there are quite a few Switch 2 deals for Prime Day this year. Popular Switch 2 editions of games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Tennis Fever, and Kirby Air Riders are all discounted to new lows right now. You can also grab the first big discount on Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which has been very popular so far.
If you don’t already have a Nintendo Switch 2, you can still pick up a console bundle to save a little bit of money. Nintendo will be increasing the price of the console in September, so now is the time to buy.
